DIY HAPPINESS SESSIONS IN BELLINGHAM
Fun was had by local residents at three DIY Happiness wellbeing sessions run in Bellingham as part of the Well Communities programme.
The sessions were planned and delivered by local Well Communities Delivery Team volunteers who had attended DIY Happiness training.
The sessions, held at Christ Church Community Hall in Bellingham, Lewisham, ran in November. Planned around the six wellbeing themes (people, place, planet, body, mind, spirit), the workshops included activities such as laughter yoga, plant potting and making gratitude diaries.
Participants also chatted as a group about what makes them happy and what they’d most like to see in their community.
‘I loved the sessions. It’s taught me new skills and reminded me to appreciate the good things in life’, said Jacqui, one participant. ‘I want to see more of this sort of thing in the community.’
Congratulations to Christina, Sarah and Joanne, the volunteers who ran the sessions and are planning to deliver more activities locally. They’ve already been approached by a parents group and an elderly group about running additional activities so watch this space!
